The Shelton Public Board hereby declares it is the policy of the School District of Shelton to provide a wide range of instructional materials on all levels of difficulty, with diversity of appeal, and the presentation of different points of view and to allow the review of allegedly inappropriate instructional materials through established procedures.

Students must check out materials from the librarian on duty or at the self check out.  Each borrower is responsible for all books checked out in his/her name.  A fine of five cents per day per book may be charged for overdue books.  Each student is responsible for any fine that accumulated on a book charged to him/her.  If a book is lost and not found by the end of the semester, the student must pay for it.  Students must also pay for any damage they cause to library books.
