Shelton Public Schools Superintendent Contract Transparency Notice
In accordance with the Nebraska Superintendent Pay Transparency Act, Shelton Public Schools is providing public notice regarding the proposed superintendent contract for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Shelton Public Schools Board of Education will consider approval of the proposed contract for Superintendent Rodney Engel at the regular board meeting scheduled for March 9, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room in Shelton, Nebraska.
The proposed contract reflects a total compensation package increase of 4.84%, which aligns with the overall package increases approved for certified staff and building principals for the upcoming school year. Within that package adjustment, the base salary increase is 0.0188%, with the remainder reflecting standard benefit and payroll cost adjustments.
Under the proposal, the superintendent’s base salary will remain $140,600, with additional district-paid benefits including insurance, retirement contributions, and other contractual items bringing the total estimated annual contract cost to $194,989.46.
The Board of Education will take action on the proposed contract at the March 9 meeting. As always, the meeting is open to the public, and community members are welcome to attend.
This notice is published to ensure transparency and compliance with Nebraska law regarding superintendent compensation.
